The American striker scored his first Barclays Premier League goal in the 2-1 win over Manchester City last weekend.
Having joined on loan from Villarreal last summer, the youngster had struggled to make an impression but is hoping Saturday’s goal will open the floodgates.
“It was great to score, but the most important part was getting a win against what a lot of people consider to be a powerful team,” Altidore told the club’s official website.
“Hopefully there will be more goals to come for me, but this isn’t a personal thing here at Hull. It’s a team effort to stay in the Premier League and it’s more important that the team do well than anything else.

Hull took a 2-0 lead against City through Altidore and George Boateng, before Emmanuel Adebayor quickly reduced the arrears.
“It’s been a good week and hopefully we can keep this form going,” he added.
“We’re a tough team to play against at the KC Stadium and we always make it hard for the opposition.
“I don’t think there were too many nerves when they got a goal back. We’ve been in that position quite a bit now and we’re growing as a team. We’re learning what it takes to close out games.
“We showed that on Saturday and we did well.
“The challenge now is to get some results away from home. We’re all up for that challenge and we want to keep improving with each game.”
Altidore is likely to play a significant role in the USA’s World Cup campaign. They have been pitted into the same group as England, while Slovenia and Algeria will provide the other opposition.
