The visitors, still searching for their first away win of the season, found themselves outplayed from the start.

Danny Murphy pounced to open the scoring in the 23rd minute and eight minutes later David Elm made it two when he slipped the ball past Brian Jensen from close range.

In the 53rd minute Bobby Zamora was fouled by David Edgar on the edge of the Fulham penalty area and the striker curled a low free-kick into the bottom corner of the net to make it 3-0.
