The defender was given a grilling about his life on and off the pitch by pupils from Westholme School.
Conversing fluently in French, Gael was signed up by Blackburn Rovers Community Trust to help the local schoolgirls prepare for their oral exams.
A-Level linguists Emma Waterhouse, Nikitha Aithal and Sachi Shah conducted a Sky Sports-style interview with Gael, who then took part in a Question & Answer session with a group of GCSE students in the club’s Media Theatre.

Gael, who joined Rovers from Olympique Marseille in January 2009, said: “I know just how hard it is to learn a new language, so I think the girls did extremely well. I think one in particular could act as my English translator!”
The modern languages event was part of the Premier League initiative Places for Players, which highlights to fans and the general public how top-flight clubs play an important role in their communities.
