Neighbours Manchester City and Wigan Athletic need points for very different reasons as they meet in the day’s only Barclays Premier League fixture.
City are chasing a Champions League spot while the Latics are nervously looking over their shoulders at the foot of the table.
Man City v Wigan
The only remaining unbeaten home record in the Barclays Premier League went on Wednesday when Manchester City lost 2-0 to Everton at Eastlands.
Roberto Mancini’s men will need to bounce back quickly if they are to maintain their push for a fourth-placed finish.
However they will find it tough as they have previously managed only one win over Wigan in nine Premier League meetings.
They have met four times in Manchester with just three goals to show for it. City have failed to hit the net in their last two home matches having previously scored in each of their previous 22 outings in front of their own fans.
Roberto Martinez is desperate to steer his side clear of trouble after a run of just two wins and three draws in their last 11, with just six goals scored.
