Two clubs aiming to finish in the fourth Champions League place face stiff tests on Saturday.
Tottenham Hotspur play a Manchester United side who will be aiming to go top of the league with a victory.
In the late kick-off, fifth-placed Manchester City travel to Arsenal.
Hull City know time is running out in their relegation fight and will be targeting a win over Sunderland.
West Ham United can maintain or extend the gap between themselves and Hull with a home win over Wigan Athletic.
Saturday’s other matches see Bolton Wanderers host Portsmouth and Blackburn Rovers travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Man Utd v Tottenham
With Chelsea not playing until Sunday, a win would take United two points clear of the Blues.
Tottenham recovered superbly from their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Portsmouth by beating Arsenal and Chelsea 2-1.
Last season United recovered from 2-0 down at home to Spurs to win 5-2 on the way to their successful Championship defence. Two goals each from Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney and another from Dimitar Berbatov turned the match on its head.
Bolton v Portsmouth
A win will guarantee another season of Barclays Premier League football for Bolton.
But they face a Portsmouth side who have proved they are no pushovers, despite relegation.
Recent 0-0 draws against Blackburn and Wigan and a 2-1 defeat to Champions League-chasing Aston Villa suggest Bolton are not in for an easy ride.
hull v sunderland
Hull’s 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa on Wednesday means they are three points behind 17th-placed West Ham with a vastly inferior goal difference.
These two sides have only ever met three times in Premier League history, with Sunderland having won each time. The Black Cats won two of these encounters 4-1, including the reverse fixture this season.
Steve Bruce’s side mainly have pride to play for, having secured their Barclays Premier League status for another season.
Iain Dowie will want to improve on a record of just one win in six matches since taking over in March.
west ham v wigan
West Ham can take a giant step towards safety with victory in this match.
They were comfortably beaten by Liverpool on Monday, while Wigan came from 2-0 down to beat Arsenal a day earlier.
West Ham beat Wigan 2-1 on the opening day of last season thanks to two goals from Dean Ashton – his last as a professional footballer.
These sides have met nine times in the Premier League, with four wins each and one draw.
wolves v Blackburn
Wolves have lost just one of their last seven matches but have failed to score in their last four.
They are six points above the relegation zone after three 0-0 draws in their last four matches.
Blackburn suffered only their third home defeat of the season at home to Everton last Saturday.
Sam Allardyce is planning for next season now that the club is safe from relegation and cannot qualify for Europe.
arsenal v man city
Man City beat Arsenal 4-2 earlier this season in a thrilling encounter at Eastlands.
Last season Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice at the Emirates Stadium in a 2-0 win, but he is now playing for City and returns to Arsenal for the first time since his transfer.
City are two points behind Tottenham who currently occupy fourth place. Roberto Mancini’s team still have Villa, Tottenham and West Ham to play in a taxing fixture list.
The Gunners saw their title hopes effectively ended with a 3-2 defeat at Wigan last weekend after they had led 2-0 through goals from Theo Walcott and Mikael Silvestre.
