The first match of the day sees an intriguing meeting between two of the form sides in the Barclays Premier League as Everton travel to high-flying Tottenham Hotspur.
With Manchester United and Aston Villa on Carling Cup final duty, this is a key fixture in the hunt for European places.
Everton went out of the Europa League in midweek but Liverpool and Fulham won through and will look to build on that. Rafael Benitez’s men are home to Blackburn Rovers while Roy Hodgson takes his side to Sunderland.
Spurs v Everton
Everton will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of going out of the Europa League to Sporting Lisbon in midweek.
By contrast Tottenham Hotspur reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a 4-0 replay win against Bolton Wanderers.
Spurs have taken 11 points from a possible 15 at White Hart Lane but Everton are top of the current form table, winning five of their last six in the Barclays Premier League.
Liverpool v Blackburn
Liverpool kept alive their quest for silverware in midweek as they eased into the last 16 of the Europa League. The Merseysiders have won their last five matches at Anfield but face a tough test against in-form opposition.
Blackburn Rovers are second in the current form table. They have won four out of their last six outings and look relatively comfortable in mid-table.
However they have taken just three points from a possible 18 on the road since winning at Bolton Wanderers in November.
Sunderland v Fulham
Fulham are on a high after reaching the last 16 of the Europa League thanks to a superb 3-2 aggregate victory over holders Shakhtar Donetsk.
Sunderland, by contrast, are struggling for form. They have gone 13 matches without a win.
Fulham have taken 10 points from a possible 12. However the Cottagers have not won away from home in the Barclays Premier League since the opening day of the season.
