There are four Barclays Premier League matches on Sunday as the teams involved in the Europa League return to action.
Aston Villa will want to bounce back from their midweek exit at home to Rapid Vienna as they take on Everton who are still seeking their first league win of the new campaign.
Liverpool won through to the group stages with a win at Trabzonspor and now host West Bromwich Albion.
Manchester City eased past Timisoara and aim to maintain their winning streak as they go to Sunderland.
And the day kicks off with Birmingham City’s visit to Bolton Wanderers.
Bolton v Birmingham
Both sides safely negotiated tricky Carling Cup ties against League 1 opposition in midweek. Bolton won 1-0 at Southampton while Birmingham came from behind to beat Rochdale 3-2 with Matt Derbyshire scoring his first goal for the club.
Bolton have won their last three meetings with Birmingham. Only one of the last 35 matches between the sides has finished goalless.
The Blues have won only one of their 10 away league fixtures in 2010, losing eight.
Liverpool v West Brom
Liverpool bounced back from their 3-0 defeat at Manchester City to win 2-1 in Turkey in midweek and now return home to face an Albion side buoyed by a 1-0 victory over Sunderland, their first win back in the Barclays Premier League.
The Baggies have not won in 23 visits to Anfield since 1967 and they have not scored against Liverpool in eight Premier League meetings. They have not won in 17 Premier League matches on the road, winning just one in 28.
Liverpool are chasing their 2000th win in league football but they have not won in four league matches and are still chasing their first maximum return under new manager Roy Hodgson.
Sunderland v Man City
Big-spending Manchester City can be pleased with their start to the campaign. They opened with a decent point from a draw at Tottenham Hotspur and then beat Liverpool 3-0 as well as comfortably reaching the group stages of the Europa League.
The Black Cats have lost only one home league match in 2010 but have kept only one clean sheet in their last 12 Barclays Premier League fixtures. City have yet to concede a goal this season but have failed to win any of their last three away matches.
Sunderland have not beaten City since 2000 and had lost their previous nine meetings with the Sky Blues until the 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light in March. There has not been a goalless draw between these sides in league football since 1938.
Aston Villa v Everton
Both sides have had a mixed start to the season. Villa beat West Ham United 3-0 on the opening day but then lost 6-0 at Newcastle United as well as going out of the Europa League.
Everton have taken just one point from their first two Barclays Premier League fixtures but beat Huddersfield Town 5-1 in the Carling Cup in midweek to boost their confidence.
This is the most-played fixture in the English top flight. Villa have 71 wins to Everton’s 70 from the previous 190 league meetings. Villa are unbeaten in their last eight league meetings with Everton but have conceded 20 goals in their last 10 league matches, including two six-goal defeats.
