Another exciting day of Barclays Premier League fixtures sees match-ups that will affect the top and bottom of the league table.

Off the back of their Europa League defeat to Benfica, Liverpool look to maintain a challenge for fourth spot when they go to Birmingham City.

Fellow European hopefuls Fulham host Wigan Athletic who are battling relegation at the foot of the table.

And in the day’s late kick-off West Ham United hope to pull their way out of relegation danger with victory at Everton.

Birmingham v Liverpool

Liverpool visit Birmingham City with their sights on maximum points in their quest to end the campaign in fourth to qualify for the Champions League.

The Reds will hope to recover from the disappointing midweek Europa League loss at Benfica against a Blues side that are formidable at home.

Birmingham have lost just twice at St Andrew’s this season and top three sides Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have failed to beat them away.

Liverpool will be relying on the firepower of Fernando Torres who is in form with seven goals from his last five matches, but they haven’t won away in seven fixtures.

Fulham v Wigan

Fulham’s Europa League win over Wolfsburg on Thursday night will give them a boost in confidence against a Wigan Athletic side fighting for their lives.

Whites manager Roy Hodgson may decide to rest some of his stars for Sunday’s match which will be their 53rd fixture of the season.

Wigan are just four points off the bottom three and will be desperate to extend that margin at Craven Cottage.

However, their away form does not make good reading – four defeats and a draw in their last five matches on the road.

Everton v West Ham

West Ham United bid to halt a worrying slide towards relegation when they travel to Goodison Park to play Everton.

The Hammers have lost their last six Barclays Premier League matches and have picked up one away win all season.

It does not bode well as Everton have a decent home record this term – they have won their last seven with clean sheets in the last three – and are chasing a place in next season’s Europa League.

“Liverpool will be relying on the firepower of Fernado Torres who is in form” .
