 Arsene Wenger has dismissed speculation linking the Gunners with a move for Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic. Wenger is in the market for a frontman following the long-term injury to Robin van Persie, while Nicklas Bendtner has been out since the end of October. The media linked Wenger with a move for Dinamo Zagreb hot-shot Mandzukic at the weekend, but the Arsenal boss has denied the rumours. When asked if the reports were true, Wenger said: “No. You will hear a few names until the end of the transfer window without there being any truth in it.” He added the club is “not close” to bringing in a new face. 

Aston Villa

 Martin O’Neill has admitted he will have to sell before he can bring in any new players during the January transfer window. O’Neill revamped his squad in the summer with the signings of Habib Beye (
