Sunderland 4-0 Bolton Wanderers

Fraizer Campbell’s first Barclays Premier League goal for Sunderland handed the Black Cats a precious lead after just 44 seconds, the quickest goal of the season.

The Black Cats doubled their advantage on 63 minutes when Steed Malbranque’s inside pass allowed Lee Cattermole to burst through. He laid the ball perfectly into the path of Darren Bent, who cut inside Sam Ricketts before sliding the ball past the advancing Jussi Jaaskelainen for his 17th goal of the season.

Steve Bruce’s men made the points safe 10 minutes later when Ricketts was sent off for a second bookable offence and Bent scored the resulting penalty.

Bent completed his first Premier League hat-trick two minutes from time with a clever sidefoot finish from a ball by Campbell.

An in-depth match report will be available shortly.
